Life in Brossard follows a rhythm of big events that come back every year. Here’s the calendar of events not to miss, season by season.
February: Fest-Hiver
For one weekend, the Fest-Hiver turns parc Sorbonne into a winter playground: kids’ shows, skating, snowshoeing, mini-slides, ice sculptures, DJs and fireworks. Admission is free; a few activities have a fee. See also our winter activities for kids.
June 23: Quebec’s Fête nationale
The Fête nationale evening takes place at parc Sorbonne, 8405, avenue Sorbonne. In 2026, it was held on Tuesday, June 23, from 6 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., with shows, free family activities, an area for kids aged 5 to 12, a food truck and fireworks at 10 p.m. Good to know: glass and bringing your own alcohol are not allowed, pets stay home, and the party goes ahead rain or shine.
Summer: free programming
All summer long, the City offers free programming: concerts, events, sports and exhibitions in the parks. It’s a great chance to discover Brossard’s parks and splash pads.
October 31: Halloween
Halloween is very popular in Brossard’s residential neighbourhoods. For a fun and safe evening:
- a visible costume, with reflective strips or a flashlight;
- an adult accompanying younger children;
- only ring the doorbell at houses that are lit and decorated;
- check the candy at home before eating it;
- drivers slow down on residential streets in the early evening.
November: the Christmas Market
Brossard’s Marché de Noël (Christmas Market) is held at the centre socioculturel, usually in mid-November. In 2024, its 30th edition brought together 75 artisans and drew more than 25,000 visitors: gourmet products, crafts, shows and entertainment. Perfect for starting your holiday shopping while supporting local creators.
December: the holidays
Over the holidays, the City offers special activities and registrations. It’s also a great time to enjoy the outdoor skating rinks and Quartier DIX30. After the holidays, remember the Christmas tree collection: see ecocentres, leaves and Christmas trees.
