Brossard Pools and Splash Pads: Family Guide

Where to swim in Brossard: free outdoor pools, splash pads in the parks and an aquatic complex open year-round.

Updated October 31, 2026 · 4 min read

When the heat settles over the South Shore, Brossard families have several ways to cool off without leaving the city: free outdoor pools, about fifteen splash pads in the parks and a large indoor Complexe aquatique (aquatic centre) open year-round. This guide covers the municipal facilities, the rules to know and good habits before heading out. Last checked: October 2026.

At a glance

  • Brossard has 6 municipal outdoor pools, free for everyone, with no membership required.
  • They normally open for about 8 weeks, from the Saturday before the Fête nationale (June 24) to the third Sunday in August.
  • The City lists more than 15 free splash pads in its parks.
  • Children aged 8 and under must be accompanied in the water by someone aged 16 or older.
  • The Complexe aquatique de Brossard, on boulevard de Rome, offers public swims year-round, at a reduced rate for residents.

Outdoor pools

The City of Brossard operates six outdoor pools spread across different sectors. Access is free for everyone and requires no bciti membership. The pools are naturally heated by the sun.

When are they open?

The season normally lasts eight weeks, from the Saturday before the Fête nationale to the third Sunday in August. Some pools may open earlier in June or extend their season into August and September, depending on the weather, the progress of preparation work and the availability of student staff. Pools may close without notice in bad weather or if there is a water quality problem.

The City publishes an « État des installations » (facility status) page on its website showing, day by day, whether each pool is open and at what times. It is the best thing to check before heading out, especially on uncertain days.

Rules to know

  • Children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by someone aged 16 or older, who stays within arm’s reach at all times.
  • Diving is allowed only in designated areas.
  • Glass containers, running and pushing are prohibited.
  • Swimsuits must be clean and used only for swimming; underwear is not allowed.
  • Repeated or prolonged breath-holding is prohibited.
  • Anyone with diarrhea or contagious skin lesions may not swim.
  • Taking photos requires permission from the pool supervisor.

Want to swim lengths? You can ask the lifeguards for a lane, but it isn’t always possible at busy times. Groups (schools, day camps, daycares) must contact the City before their first visit.

Splash pads

Splash pads are perfect for little ones: no deep water, and access is free with no membership. According to the list published by the City, there are splash pads in the following parks:

CCarrière-Castello, Charpentier
Edes Étoiles
Lde Lunan, de Liège

Brossard’s parks are open every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. under municipal regulations; the Vanier park splash pad posts these hours. Splash pads operate during the summer season only and close in the fall. The Grand parc urbain added its splash pad in a development phase completed in summer 2023, along with a play structure and an outdoor pavilion: a good choice for combining water play, a picnic and a walk. See our guide to Brossard parks and trails.

The Complexe aquatique de Brossard

Located at 3075, boulevard de Rome, the Complexe aquatique is the year-round option, rain or shine. It has several pools:

  • Recreational pool: about 700 m², water at 31°C, depth from 0 to 1.2 m, gently sloping entry, slides, lazy river, water games and an area for ages 6 months to 3 years. You must be at least 1.20 m tall to use the slides.
  • 50 m pools: a shallow pool, presented by the City as the first universally accessible indoor 50 m pool in Quebec, and a deep pool with diving platforms.
  • Relaxation area: steam bath, whirlpool and sauna, for ages 18 and up and included with admission.

According to the rates posted by the City in fall 2026, single admission costs:

CategoryResidentNon-resident
Ages 0 to 3FreeFree
Ages 4 to 17$3.43$5.63
Ages 18 to 64$6.36$10.44
65 and over$3.43$5.63

Annual memberships (adult, child, senior, family) are also available. Each admission is valid for a single swim period. The same supervision rules apply: children aged 8 and under must be accompanied in the water by someone aged 16 or older, within arm’s reach, and a flotation vest does not replace the accompanying person. Check the public swim schedule on the City’s website before you go, as the open areas vary by period and the Complexe closes every year for maintenance.

Tips for a great outing

  • Check the facility status the same day: closures without notice are possible in bad weather or if there is a water quality problem.
  • During heat waves, the City has in the past extended splash pad hours and opened some pools for free outside regular hours; watch for its announcements.
  • Bring sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle: several parks have water fountains.
  • For toddlers, splash pads are often simpler than a pool.
