Do you live in Brossard or are you thinking of moving here, and want to know how to use the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) day to day? This guide covers the essentials: Brossard’s three stations, first and last departure times, published frequencies, the order of stations toward Montreal and fares from the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM). Last checked: October 2026.
At a glance
- Brossard has three REM stations: Brossard (terminus), Du Quartier and Panama.
- At Brossard station, the first departures are around 5:30 a.m. and the last between roughly 12:35 a.m. and 1:20 a.m., depending on the day and direction (REM published schedules, October 2026).
- Frequency published by the REM: about every 3 min 30 s on weekdays at rush hour, and every 7 min 30 s off-peak, on weekends and on holidays.
- Brossard’s stations are in zone B and Montreal’s (Île-des-Sœurs, Gare Centrale) are in zone A: you need an All modes AB fare to cross.

- The transitional REM-only fares on the South Shore were withdrawn on July 1, 2026.
Brossard’s three REM stations
The REM’s South Shore branch runs along Highway 10 in Brossard. According to the REM, it has three stations, from farthest to closest to Montreal:
- Brossard station (8200 boulevard de Rome): the end of the line, at the junction of highways 10 and 30. It has a 21-bay bus terminus, a large park-and-ride lot, bike racks, charging stations and elevators.
- Du Quartier station (2100 rue de l’Éclipse): in the median of Highway 10, next to Quartier DIX30. It is reached by a pedestrian footbridge. There is no parking for REM users.
- Panama station: on the site of the Panama bus terminus, with a park-and-ride lot and a metropolitan ticket office.
For parking details, see our guide to REM park-and-ride lots in Brossard.

Published frequencies
According to the REM’s FAQ, the interval between trains varies with the time of day:
| Period | Time between trains |
|---|---|
| Weekdays, morning rush (6:30 to 9:30 a.m.) | about 3 min 30 s |
| Weekdays, evening rush (3:30 to 6:30 p.m.) | about 3 min 30 s |
| Weekdays, off-peak | about 7 min 30 s |
| Weekends and holidays | about 7 min 30 s |
These are the values the REM publishes for the whole network. In practice, there’s no need to check an exact schedule during the day: just head to the platform. Early in the morning and late at night, it’s safer to check your station’s timetable.
Trips to Montreal: the order of stations
From the Brossard terminus, the train stops at:
- Brossard (zone B)
- Du Quartier (zone B)
- Panama (zone B)
- Île-des-Sœurs (zone A), after crossing the Samuel De Champlain Bridge
- Gare Centrale (zone A), in downtown Montreal
In October 2026, the REM website shows two directions from Brossard: Deux-Montagnes and Anse-à-l’Orme. Trains therefore continue past Gare Centrale, so you can reach other parts of Montreal without changing trains. According to the REM, the trip between Brossard and downtown takes less than 18 minutes. For a detailed look at travel times and costs, read Brossard to downtown Montreal by REM: time and cost.
ARTM fares: which zone is Brossard in?
The metropolitan region is divided into fare zones. According to the REM and the ARTM, zone A covers the Montreal agglomeration and zone B covers the Longueuil agglomeration and Laval. Panama, Du Quartier and Brossard stations are in zone B; Île-des-Sœurs and Gare Centrale are in zone A. Your fare must cover the departure zone, the arrival zone and any zones in between.

Source: ARTM fare schedule in effect since July 1, 2026. At the reduced fare (ages 6 to 17, 65 and over, and students 18 and over for the monthly pass), a single All modes AB trip costs $3.50 and the AB monthly pass $102.00. For outings, the ARTM also offers an Unlimited evening fare ($6.75, 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.) and an Unlimited weekend fare ($17.00, Friday 4 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.), valid in zones A to D.
The ARTM announcement published on Québec.ca (in French) states that the REM’s transitional South Shore fares were withdrawn on July 1, 2026. To combine the REM and buses, you now need an All modes fare.
Where to buy and reload fares
- At the vending machines in REM stations.
- With the Chrono app, to reload an OPUS card or buy certain fares.
- At the metropolitan ticket office at the Panama terminus. The City of Brossard says it is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
- Note: according to the REM, the metropolitan ticket office at the Brossard terminus has been permanently closed since June 30, 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Does the REM run all night?
No. The REM operates about 20 hours a day. At Brossard station, service starts around 5:30 a.m. and ends after midnight, a little later on Saturdays.
Which fare do I need to go from Brossard to Gare Centrale?
An All modes AB fare, since you’re travelling from zone B to zone A. A zone A-only fare is not enough.
Can I go from Panama to Brossard with a zone A fare?
No: these three stations are in zone B. Use the ARTM’s fare selector, on its website or in the Chrono app, to find the right fare for a trip entirely on the South Shore.
Are the stations wheelchair accessible?
The REM says Brossard and Du Quartier stations are universally accessible thanks to elevators. Check elevator status on the REM website before you leave.
How do I know if service is interrupted?
Check the REM’s ‘Service status’ page and its planned interruptions calendar. During interruptions, shuttle buses are generally announced on those same pages.
