Brossard offers a wide range of recreation facilities: an award-winning library, arenas, an aquatic complex, community centres and hundreds of activities every season. Here’s how to make the most of them.
Bibliothèque Georgette-Lepage (public library)
Located at 7855, avenue San Francisco, the bibliothèque Georgette-Lepage is one of the busiest places in the city. You’ll find books, films, games, a youth section, workspaces and activities for all ages. It’s usually open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends: check the current hours on the library’s website, especially over the holidays and in summer. Ask at the counter to get your library card.
Arenas and skating
The aréna Michel-Normandin, at 3105, boulevard de Rome, hosts minor hockey, figure skating and public skating sessions. The Complexe sportif CN rounds out the offer with ice and gym facilities. In winter, also enjoy Brossard’s outdoor skating rinks.
Swimming and sports
The Complexe aquatique offers swimming lessons, public swims and aquatic activities. In summer, the outdoor pools and splash pads take over. Sports facilities and fields can be booked online.
Community centres
The centre socioculturel Alphonse-Lepage and the Centre multigénérationnel host classes, workshops, activities for seniors and cultural events.
How to register for activities
- the City publishes a program each season (winter, spring, summer, fall);
- registration is online on a date announced in advance: popular classes fill up fast;
- set up your online account and have proof of residence ready before registration day;
- sports facilities are booked on the Ludik platform.
