Brossard is often associated with Quartier DIX30 and highways, but the city also has a vast network of parks, trails and bike paths. This guide presents the major green spaces to know, the cycling network that connects Brossard to the river and to Montreal, and the basic rules for enjoying the parks. Last checked: October 2026.
At a glance
- Brossard has more than 350 parks and green spaces, open every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- The Grand parc urbain, developed since 2018, is the flagship park: disc golf, splash pad, micro-forests and a sledding mound.
- The Bois de Brossard (parc Bioparc) protects a large natural area, including a nature reserve.
- The network of multi-use paths exceeds 65 km and connects to the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge and the Route verte.
- There is a dog park in parc Lautrec, on boulevard de Rome.
- Parc de la Cité, often mentioned, is in Longueuil (Saint-Hubert), not in Brossard.
The Grand parc urbain
Born from public consultations held in 2015 and 2016, the Grand parc urbain has been developed by the City since 2018 in successive phases. According to the City, it covers more than 4 million square feet and has several access points, including one from rue Condor; the chalet is at 6000, rue De Châteauneuf.
| Phase | Features | Status according to the City |
|---|---|---|
| 1A (Lapinière area) and 1B (East area) | Fitness circuit, sledding mound, rest areas, networks, entrances | Completed |
| 2 | Play structure, splash pad, outdoor pavilion, bike stop, pond improvements | Completed in summer 2023 |
| 3B | Disc golf course, micro-forests, landscaping and lighting of the basin | Completed in 2024-2025 |
| 4 and 5 | Parking, welcome pavilion, service building, intergenerational exercise area, lit cycling and pedestrian network | Upcoming |
In summer, the pavilion hosts free municipal activities such as dance sessions; in winter, people go cross-country skiing and sledding there. It is the ideal place for a first outing if you have just arrived.
The Bois de Brossard and parc Bioparc
The Bois de Brossard is a vast natural area. According to the City, it covers 974 hectares in total, including nearly 600 hectares intended to become a bioparc and 408 hectares of nature reserve shared between the City of Brossard and Nature-Action Québec. In December 2021, the Quebec environment ministry granted nature reserve status to five lots totalling 178 hectares, adding to the 230 hectares already protected.
Parc Bioparc (Centre de plein air), on chemin des Prairies, offers trails, cross-country ski trails in winter, a sledding hill and archery (closed from December 1 to April 1). The trails are undergoing modernization work to make them safer, more durable and more accessible: check their status on the City’s website before you go.
Bike paths and multi-use trails
According to the City, Brossard has more than 65 km of multi-use paths shared by cyclists, walkers, inline skaters and strollers. Several links let you leave the city by bike:
- Samuel-De Champlain Bridge: the bridge’s multi-use path connects Brossard to Montreal. A new multi-use link connects sector T to the bridge.
- St. Lawrence Seaway: a trail runs along the seaway between the Saint-Lambert lock and the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge ice boom.
- La Riveraine: this section is part of the Route verte, Quebec’s major cycling network.
Every year the City publishes a printable bike map as well as an interactive map of the routes. To combine cycling and public transit, see our guide to the Brossard REM station and our guide to the bridges between Brossard and Montreal.
Neighbourhood parks to know
Beyond the large parks, most sectors have a well-equipped neighbourhood park. A few verified highlights:
| Park | Sector | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Vanier | B | Pool, splash pad, rink, community garden, Wi-Fi |
| Victorin | P | Pool, splash pad, rink, Wi-Fi |
| Saint-Alphonse | A | Pool, rink, frozen pond, Wi-Fi |
| Champlain | T | Pool, splash pad, rink |
| Sorbonne | S | Splash pad, rink, ice loop, Wi-Fi |
| Lautrec | L | Dog park (4000, boulevard de Rome) |
The new Centre multigénérationnel (multigenerational centre), opened in September 2025 at 6425, boulevard Milan, also includes outdoor interpretive trails and pickleball, basketball and pétanque courts.
Parc de la Cité: in Longueuil, not Brossard
Parc de la Cité is often mentioned as a nearby South Shore park. A useful clarification: it is located in Longueuil, in the Saint-Hubert borough, and is managed by Longueuil, not the City of Brossard. It is still accessible by car for an outing, but its rules and services are Longueuil’s. To compare the two cities, read Brossard vs. Longueuil.
