Outdoors
Spend the day at the Grand parc urbain
Developed in phases since 2018, the Grand parc urbain brings together a disc golf course, micro-forests, a landscaped and lit basin, a play structure, a splash pad, an outdoor pavilion, a fitness circuit and a sledding mound. Bring a frisbee, a lunch and bikes: you can easily spend half a day there. In summer, the City has offered free dance sessions at the pavilion.
Explore the Bois de Brossard
Parc Bioparc (Centre de plein air), on chemin des Prairies, gives access to the Bois de Brossard, a large natural area that includes a nature reserve. You’ll find trails, cross-country skiing and a sledding hill in winter, as well as archery (closed from December 1 to April 1). The trails are being modernized: check their status on the City’s website before you go.
Bike to the river or to Montreal
Brossard has more than 65 km of multi-use paths. A nice weekend loop: head to the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge path, or ride along the St. Lawrence Seaway between the Saint-Lambert lock and the bridge ice boom. The network also connects to La Riveraine, a section of the Route verte. The City’s bike map can be downloaded from its website.
Cool off in summer
The six municipal outdoor pools (parcs Saint-Alphonse, Vanier, Manon, Victorin, Roger and Champlain) are free for everyone during the summer season, and the City has more than 15 splash pads. Details and rules in our guide to pools and splash pads.
Skate in winter
As soon as the cold allows, about ten outdoor rinks, frozen ponds and ice loops open in the parks. Shinny is played on boarded rinks, and helmets are mandatory for ages 8 and under. See the full list in our guide to outdoor skating rinks.
Walk the dog
Parc Lautrec, at 4000, boulevard de Rome, has a dog exercise area: handy for a Saturday morning outing.
Indoors, in bad weather
The Complexe aquatique de Brossard
At 3075, boulevard de Rome, the Complexe aquatique offers public swims year-round: a recreational pool at 31°C with slides and a lazy river, 50 m pools and a relaxation area for ages 18 and up. Residents pay a reduced rate. Check the public swim schedule before you go, as the open areas vary.
The Bibliothèque de Brossard Georgette-Lepage
Located at 7855, avenue San Francisco, the library is an ideal outing for families. It has air-conditioned spaces, appreciated on heat-wave days. Its annual used book sale usually returns in June. Hours, membership and activities are listed on the Bibliothèque de Brossard website.
The Centre multigénérationnel
Opened in September 2025 at 6425, boulevard Milan, the Centre multigénérationnel (multigenerational centre) includes a gym, dance studios, painting and exhibition spaces, play and relaxation areas, interpretive trails and pickleball, basketball and pétanque courts. The City offers activities there according to its program.
Drop-in activities
The City offers drop-in sports activities on a published schedule: badminton, pétanque, pickleball (indoor, ages 14 and up), basketball and tennis. Check the program on the City’s website or the bciti portal.
Shopping and outings in town
For shopping or a meal out, Quartier DIX30 and Mail Champlain are Brossard’s two best-known hubs. Our Quartier DIX30 guide will help you plan your visit. Want to discover local flavours?
