Quartier DIX30 is one of the best-known shopping destinations on the South Shore. This practical guide is for Brossard residents and visitors alike: how to get there, where to park, how to combine the REM with shopping and, above all, what rules govern store opening hours on statutory holidays and over the holiday season. Each store’s hours vary: we explain the legal framework in force in Quebec and where to find the exact hours. Last checked: October 2026.

What is Quartier DIX30?
Opened in 2006, Quartier DIX30 is an open-air shopping centre laid out like an urban neighbourhood. It has shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, performance venues, a hotel, recreational activities and events throughout the year. It’s located at the west corner of the interchange between Highway 10 (Autoroute des Cantons-de-l’Est) and Highway 30 (Autoroute de l’Acier), in Brossard.
How to get there
By REM
The Du Quartier REM station is the closest to DIX30. A pedestrian footbridge over Highway 10 connects the station to the shopping area. From Montreal, the REM leaves from Central Station and crosses the Samuel De Champlain Bridge; Du Quartier is the second-to-last station before the Brossard terminus. For schedules and frequency, check the REM website. See also our guide to REM stations in Brossard and the Brossard–downtown trip.
By car
DIX30 is accessible via highways 10 and 30. During busy periods (December weekends, year-end sales), allow extra time at the highway exits. If you’re coming from Montreal, see bridges and traffic between Brossard and Montreal.
By bus
Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) routes serve the area. Check routes and schedules in the RTL trip planner. See buses in Brossard.
Parking: what you need to know

Opening hours: the general framework
Each business sets its own hours, within the limits of Quebec’s law respecting hours and days of admission to commercial establishments. According to the Government of Quebec page on regular business hours (updated May 2026):
- Monday to Friday, stores may open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.;
- Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.;
- a pilot project in effect since March 11, 2026, for 12 months, allows non-food stores that wish to do so to open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Sunday, except on statutory holidays.
As a result, two neighbouring stores may have different hours. Restaurants, the movie theatre and performance venues also have their own schedules. For a store’s exact hours, check the Quartier DIX30 website or the retailer’s website.
Holiday and statutory holiday hours 2026-2027
Here are the rules for retail stores, according to the Government of Quebec page on opening hours on statutory holidays (updated February 2026):
| Date | Rule for stores |
|---|---|
| Thursday, December 24, 2026 | May open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
| Friday, December 25, 2026 (Christmas) | Closed |
| Saturday, December 26, 2026 | May open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. |
| Thursday, December 31, 2026 | May open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
| Friday, January 1, 2027 (New Year’s Day) | Closed |
| Saturday, January 2, 2027 | Regular hours |
The other mandatory closing days of the year are Easter, the Fête nationale (June 24), Canada Day (July 1) and Labour Day. There are exceptions: pharmacies may open at any time, and grocery stores and SAQ outlets follow special rules based on their floor area. A store may also choose to open for fewer hours than permitted.
Tips for a successful visit
