Brossard Winter Overnight Parking and Street Snow Removal

The 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. ban, temporary signs, text alerts, free alternative parking and how snow removal operations work in Brossard.

Updated October 31, 2026 · 2 min read

From mid-November to mid-April, parking on the street in Brossard requires a bit of attention. Here is how the overnight bans and snow removal operations work.

The basic rule

From November 15 to April 15, street parking is prohibited from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. when a snow clearing or snow loading operation is under way. The rest of the time, the City may allow overnight parking until further notice.

Temporary signs take priority

During snow loading, temporary signs are installed in the streets. They override the permanent signage and may indicate different hours, sometimes from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. When in doubt, always follow the sign on your street. Even if the street looks cleared, wait until the City lifts the ban: more passes may be needed.

How to know if the ban is in effect

  • Info-neige text alerts, which you activate in your bciti+ account (notices and notifications): a text arrives before 3 p.m., then another at the end of the ban;
  • the green or red banner on the City’s website;
  • the City’s Facebook page and electronic signs;
  • the Info-neige line: 450 923-6339.

Where to park during a ban

From November 15 to April 15, the City offers free alternative parking, for example at the Grand parc urbain, the Michel-Normandin arena and the Alphonse-Lepage socio-cultural centre. The City’s interactive map lists them. Some streets also have a permanent ban on one side all winter: check the list for your street.

If your car was towed

The City says to contact the Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL, the Longueuil agglomeration police) to locate a towed vehicle.

How operations work

City crews maintain about 350 km of streets, 160 km of sidewalks and 65 km of bike paths and trails. Boulevards and arterial roads come first, then collector streets, then local streets. Some so-called eco-winter streets receive less salt and abrasives. Boulevard Taschereau and the Highway 10 and 30 ramps are the responsibility of the Quebec government.

Your responsibilities

  • do not push snow from your driveway onto the street or sidewalk;
  • keep your bins off the roadway on snow days;
  • stake your driveway and lot before the first snowfall.
